IEC Standards

International standards (IEC standards) define the rules for switchboard

construction in order to meet safety and availability needs required by

the application. Complying with IEC standards is a direct measure of

the Quality of the equipment and provides assurance that the equipment

is fit for purpose. Conformity to the standards is today important

to maintain your business and to access new markets. We can guide you

through the relevant IEC standards:

IEC 61439-1, IEC 61439-2 : Low Voltage Switchgear and Control gear assemblies
IEC TR61641 : Testing under conditions of arcing due to internal fault

Design

Defining configuration of LV Panels to be certified/ type tested.
Main Switchboards (MDBs, LT Panels, MV Panels), Sub Main

Distribution Boards (SMDBs), Final Distribution Boards (DBs), etc

Propose suitable construction of the enclosure, construction of

functional units, compartments, bus bars, etc.

Suggest selection of bus bar sizes, fixing arrangement, selection of

bus bar supports with reference to the ratings and fault levels of the

panel to be tested.

Support in the preparation of general arrangement drawings (AutoCAD)

Co-ordination with Certification body / Test laboratory

Assist/Obtain quotations from laboratories for testing and evaluate for choosing appropriate offer. Have developed excellent contacts with the test labs.

Manufacturing / Assembly

Help construction of the enclosure with particular emphasis to pass IP Rating and Lifting tests.
Help build the panel and check for compliance with the standards.
Advise on method of arrangement of bus bars and devices in order to get positive results in Short Circuit tests (Icw) and Conditional Short Circuit tests (Icc) tests.
Good exposure in arrangement of devices with particular emphasis on positive temperature rise results.
With the experience we have gained in type testing various switchboards over the years, we are able to anticipate potential issues particularly during temperature rise tests or short circuit tests and provide you with necessary inputs to take them into consideration during the assembly.

Type tests

Witnessing of actual temperature rise test, IP test and short circuit tests at the laboratory Support in taking corrective actions during critical tests such as Temperature rise, Short circuit, IP, etc in order to reach the desired results.

Certification

Help in reviewing the final Type test certificates and reports issued by the Certification body and providing necessary inputs to be in line with the local regulatory requirements.

Project Management Consultancy

With the vast experience we have in the manufacturing of sheet metal enclosures, we are also able to render our consultancy services in setting up of industrial manufacturing units in the Gulf countries including design of the industrial plant, selection and implementation of CNC punching machines, bending machines, welding units, automated powder coating line, etc. We can offer our consultancy services in starting the plant from scratch and provide all necessary assistance till running the factory successfully.
